Just Good Advisors ("we," "us," or "our") operates justgoodadvisors.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information you give us

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Contact form submissions. Name, email address, organization, and whatever you write in the message field.

  • Newsletter signups. First name, last name, and email address.

  • Course purchases. Name, email address, and billing information. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor. We do not store them.

  • Consulting inquiries and engagements. Contact details, organizational information, and any materials you share during the course of work.

  • Scheduling. If you book a call, our scheduling provider collects your name, email, and any information you enter when booking.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and our service providers collect:

  • IP address and general location

  • Browser type and device information

  • Pages visited, time on page, and referring site

  • Cookie data

We use this to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies. Some are necessary for the site to function, including cookies that keep you logged into a course or remember items in a cart. Others help us measure traffic.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide the services you request

  • Deliver courses, digital products, and course materials

  • Process payments

  • Send newsletters and updates if you have subscribed

  • Improve the site and our offerings

  • Meet legal and accounting obligations

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade mailing lists. We do not share client information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Service providers

We use third-party services to run the business. Each has access only to the information needed to perform its function, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Squarespace. Website hosting, commerce, and email marketing.

  • Stripe, PayPal, or both. Payment processing.

  • Calendly. Appointment booking.

  • Squarespace. Newsletter delivery.

  • Google Analytics. Traffic measurement.

Client confidentiality

Consulting, training, coaching, and facilitation engagements often involve sensitive organizational information. We treat that information as confidential and do not disclose it outside the engagement without permission, except where disclosure is required by law.

Where an engagement calls for it, we sign a separate confidentiality agreement that governs over this policy.

Coaching and training participants

Information shared in coaching sessions, training rooms, or facilitated conversations stays in those spaces. We do not report individual participant contributions back to employers or sponsors.

We may share aggregate, de-identified observations with an organization that has engaged us. For example, we might report that a majority of participants named unclear decision-making as a concern. We do not attribute statements to individuals.

There are limits. We may disclose information where we believe there is a risk of harm to someone, or where the law requires disclosure.

Email and marketing

If you subscribe to a newsletter or download a resource, you will receive email from us. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing email but does not stop transactional email related to a purchase or an active engagement.

Data retention

We keep personal information as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Course purchase records are retained for five years. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your information

  • Opt out of marketing communications

  • Object to or restrict certain processing

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The site is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other sites, including podcast platforms and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated by email to subscribers.
